[JAPAN] Toyo University Study Abroad Program IUEP Fall 2026

Toyo University, Japan, is now inviting applications for the Toyo University Study Abroad IUEP Program for the Fall 2026 Semester.

Chiang Mai University students who aim to pursue advanced professional careers in Japan are encouraged to apply for this specialized exchange program.

Program Overview

The IUEP Program is designed for students who aim to take the J1 or the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test for advanced professional-level employment in Japan. The program allows students to:

  • Enroll in courses related to Japanese business

  • Participate in internships at Japanese companies

  • Join international exchange activities to enhance their understanding of Japanese companies and society

The program will be held from September 2026 – January 2027.

Selected students will receive a tuition fee waiver at Toyo University. All other expenses, including accommodation, travel, insurance, living expenses, and personal costs, will be the responsibility of the student.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at Chiang Mai University and maintain student status throughout the exchange period

  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale

  • Meet the following language requirement:

Japanese Language Requirement

  • JLPT Level N2 or higher

Required Application Documents

Interested students are required to prepare the following documents:

  • Personal Information & Statements (to be completed in the online system after nomination)

  • Academic Reference

  • Academic Transcripts

  • Copy of Passport

  • Language Proficiency Test Score (JLPT or English proficiency score, if applicable)

  • JPEG photo file (for COE application and student ID card)

  • Financial Supporting Documents (e.g., Bank Statement for COE application)

  • Certificate of Health (to be submitted after preliminary acceptance)

  • Application for Certificate of Eligibility (to be submitted after preliminary acceptance)

Students are advised to contact their faculty or the relevant international relations office for nomination procedures and internal submission deadlines.

Nomination and Application Deadline
The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) may nominate one student for this program. Interested students are required to submit all relevant application documents to Ms. Tanya (Room ICB1103) no later than  23 FEBRUARY 2026.
