Call for Applications: MuroranIT Short-Term Exchange Program 2025

Chiang Mai University has been invited by Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan, to promote the MuroranIT Short-Term Exchange Program 2025. The program is scheduled to take place from October 2025 to March 2026 and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Program Overview

This short-term exchange program offers academic and cultural exchange opportunities in Japan. Participating students will be exempt from tuition fees, but are required to cover all other expenses independently.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be full-time students at Chiang Mai University.

• Students must have completed at least one year of study at CMU.

• Final-year students are not eligible to apply.

• Undergraduate applicants must hold a Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certificate of N2 or higher.

• Graduate-level applicants must hold a language certificate equivalent to CEFR level B2 or above.

Required Documents

Interested students must prepare and submit the following application materials:

1. Applicant Information Form

2. Application for Research Exchange Student (if applicable)

3. Application for Auditing Exchange Student (if applicable)

4. Letter of Recommendation from the home university

5. Application for Certificate of Eligibility

6. Application for MuroranIT Short-Term Exchange Study Scholarship (optional)

7. Request for Commission of Research Guidance (Graduate students only)

8. Recommendation Letter from Affiliated Graduate School (Graduate students only)

9. Latest academic transcript and explanation of grading system from home university

10. Proof of language proficiency:
      - Research Exchange Students: Statement from the intended MuroranIT supervisor verifying language ability
      - Certification of Japanese or English proficiency

11. Copy of passport

12. Passport-style photograph in JPG format

13. Certificate of enrollment from Chiang Mai University
