Gifu University Student Exchange Program 2027 – Call for Applications

Gifu University, Japan, is now accepting applications for its Student Exchange Program for Academic Year 2027, offering eligible undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to study or conduct research at Gifu University for one semester or one academic year.

Selected exchange students will receive a tuition fee waiver from Gifu University. However, participants are responsible for all other expenses associated with the exchange, including travel, accommodation, health insurance, living expenses, and other personal costs.

Host University: Gifu University, Japan
Program: Student Exchange Program – Academic Year 2027
Study Duration: One Semester or One Academic Year
Eligible Levels: Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Tuition Fee: Waived
Other Expenses: Self-funded by the student

Exchange Program Categories

Applicants may apply under one of the following categories, depending on their academic level, study objectives, and language proficiency:

1. Special Auditor

Eligibility:

• Undergraduate or graduate student

• Must have completed at least one semester of study at the home university

• Must not be in the final year of the degree program

• Students with JLPT N2 or above may take specialized academic courses

• Students with Japanese proficiency below JLPT N2 may primarily study Japanese language and culture

Type of Study: Coursework

2. Special Research Student

Eligibility:

• Graduate student

• Must have sufficient Japanese and/or English language proficiency to undertake research activities

Type of Study: Research under the supervision of an academic advisor at Gifu University

3. Japanese Language and Culture Studies Student

Eligibility:

• Undergraduate student in the second year or above, excluding final-year students

• Must be studying in a field related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture

• Must have JLPT N2 or above

Type of Study: Japanese Language and Culture Studies

Important Information for ICDI Students

Interested ICDI students should carefully review the eligibility requirements and select the exchange category that best matches their academic level, field of study, language proficiency, and study objectives.

Applicants must submit their complete application documents to the ICDI International Relations Unit for internal review and nomination.
