Chiang Mai University has been informed by Chuo University, Japan, regarding the MEXT Scholarship 2026 (University Recommendation) for international students who wish to pursue graduate-level study and research at Chuo University. Successful applicants will receive full financial support, including:

Monthly stipend of 143,000 JPY (subject to change according to MEXT regulations)

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

Be a citizen of a country recognized by the Government of Japan (including Thailand) and must not hold Japanese nationality

Be born on or after 2 April 1991

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30/3.00 calculated according to the MEXT scale

Hold proof of language proficiency:

Japanese: JLPT N2 or higher, or
-
English: Equivalent to CEFR B2 (e.g., IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 72 or higher)

Be formally nominated by their home institution that has a partnership with Chuo University

Chiang Mai University has been informed by the Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan regarding the MEXT (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship 2026 for international students who wish to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degree studies at Muroran Institute of Technology. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

Be formally nominated by a university that has an academic exchange or partnership agreement with Muroran Institute of Technology

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30/3.00

Be under 35 years of age as of 1 April 2026 (born on or after 2 April 1991)

Demonstrate language proficiency equivalent to CEFR B2 in English or JLPT N2 in Japanese, or have completed a degree program conducted entirely in one of these languages

Obtain preliminary acceptance from an academic supervisor at Muroran Institute of Technology before submitting the application
